Re: Keep offline volumes in the index

Post by subZEROx265 »

After updating to Version 1.4.1.1032 x64 (I used x86 version previously), I can't seems to find any file on offline volumes anymore. Already follow the sticky guidance but still no avail. Is this the updated version problem or the x64 version problem?

Moved from Keep offline volumes in the index.

The issue is most likely caused by changing from x86 to x64.

The database is compatible with both versions so it should just work, but it's possible an indexing option was changed, which might trigger a reindex.
If you uninstall the x86 version, the database will be deleted.

Please make a backup of your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything\Everything.db ASAP.
Everything will overwrite this file when it is closed and you will lose your offline volumes.

Once a backup is created, exit Everything and make sure it is installed correctly:
  • Backup your Everything.db from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
  • In Everything, from the File menu, click Exit.
  • Uninstall the x86 version.
  • re-install the x64 version.
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restore your Everything.db to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
  • Restart Everything.

If this doesn't help, you will likely need to reconnect and re-add these offline volumes to your index again.
