Date Accessed Change Detection
Everything doesn't update date accessed changes in real-time.
This is a limitation with Everything and the NTFS USN Journal.
There's no USN Journal event when the date accessed is updated.
Everything will update the date accessed when the file is modified or renamed.
To refresh date accessed information:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Indexes tab on the left.
- Click Force Rebuild.
- Click OK.
Deleted Hardlink Detection
Everything doesn't detect deleted hard links.
This is a limitation with Everything and the NTFS USN Journal.
Everything doesn't store file IDs, so cannot remove files/folders by ID.
The filename stored in the USN Journal for deleted hard links is not reliable.
To remove deleted hard links from your index:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Indexes tab on the left.
- Click Force Rebuild.
- Click OK.
