Tree-Up selection retention inconsistency

Post by meteorquake »

More of an inconsistency than a bug...
In folder view, if you are in a folder and have some results items highlighted, an inconsistency lies in how you move to the parent folder - if you click on a parent in the folder tree (or use the arrow left in it), the items stay highlighted (good), but if you use Alt-UpArrow to move up, they don't (undesirable). (Similarly if you highlight results items and then Ctrl-Shift-N it creates a subfolder in the tree, and the results items stay highlighted, which is great, if you then move up, the same inconsistency, presumably the same issue.)
Hopefully an easy one :)

Windows Explorer will select the current folder when going up one directory.

Everything will do the same by default.

I understand it can be desirable to keep your result selection when changing the folder sidebar selection.
I will add a folders_sidebar_select_current_folder_on_navigate_up advanced setting in the next update.
Thank you for the suggestion.
