Thumbnails missing on Windows 11

Post by stellarbrian »

I don't believe I had to this on my previous machine, and it's possible this is redundant - but I had to enable the built-in Everything app's settings option > Run as Administrator to get the thumbnails working on my new computer.

Everything is amazing. Always recommend it to people.

Thank you for your feedback and support.

I do not recommend running Everything as administrator.

Do thumbnails work in Windows Explorer?

Please try running Everything as a standard user and make sure thumbnails are enabled:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.
  • Copy and paste the following into your Everything search box:
    /icons_only=2
  • Press ENTER in your Everything search box.
  • If successful, icons_only=2 is shown in the status bar for a few seconds.
Does the issue persist?
