Hi,
Windows
Apps > Standard-Apps > Select default values by file type (German: Standardwerte nach Dateityp auswählen)
.png FastStone Capture
.psd Adobe Photoshop CS6
Everything
Options - 1.5.0.1404a (x64) > Advanced > custom_open_commands > Edit > Edit Table
"Open Path in Windows Explorer" works.
According to the definition in Everything, a
- .PNG or .PSD file should be opened in IrfanView (x64) ->
Result: Cannot be opened in IrfanView, only with the default application
- .MP4 or .MOV file should be opened in MPC-HC64 ->
Result: .MP4 can only be opened in the default app instead of “MPC-HC64”
.MOV can only be opened in “Media Player” (default app) instead of “MPC-HC64”
- .7z or .zip archive file should be opened in Total Commander (x64) ->
Result: Can only be opened in Explorer in some cases, or Explorer refuses with an error message
I am sure that this worked in an older version.
Please check.
Internal Associations (Everything Only)... Advanced - custom_open_commands (Editor)
Re: Internal Associations (Everything Only)... Advanced - custom_open_commands (Editor)
The commands look correct.
Are you right clicking the file, then the associated context menu item?
-or-
Are you just double clicking or pressing ENTER on the item?

Re: Internal Associations (Everything Only)... Advanced - custom_open_commands (Editor)
I start the file with a double-click.
Thanks for the tip about right-clicking!
That helps me a lot.
There I find the context menu entry “IrfanView” for a .PSD file, and that works.
(Hmm, maybe I did it that way before and unfortunately forgot).
I would be grateful if you could set up double-clicking and ENTER for custom_open_commands.
Thanks!

Setting the default command can be done by leaving the name blank.I would be grateful if you could set up double-clicking and ENTER for custom_open_commands.
You may want to duplicate the item, one with a name and one without.
Only the items with names are shown in the context menu.
Custom Open Commands

Thank you very much!
I tested again the options shown in the image below.
Right-clicking on an entry in “Edit Table,” I created a second entry using copy/paste > Edit...
and removed the entry in the “name” field > OK > OK > Apply. From that point on, the functions could be used successfully!
- The names in the “name” column correspond to the context menu entries that appear when you right-click on a file.
- If there is NO name in the “name” column, you can open a file by double-clicking or pressing ENTER.
- Additionally, there is this option in Everything: "Switch to Total Commander (adjust the path!) - position cursor on file" ...
- Options - 1.5.0.1404a (x64) > Keyboard > Show commands containing: file | open path > CTRL+ENTER (Result List)
AND
- Options - 1.5.0.1404a (x64) > Context Menu > Open Path > Command: $exec("C:\totalcmd\TOTALCMD64.EXE" /O /A /S "%1")
Now it's perfect for me, as I can open e.g. a .PSD or .PNG image in IrfanView with a double-click, ENTER, or 'context menu entry'
(even though the file types are assigned to a different default app in Windows).
Thank you very much!
