No thumbnail preview in everything

Hello everyone, no thumbnails are showing in everything 1.5a Version 1.5.0.1399a (x64). Can anyone help me with this ?

Please check thumbnails are enabled:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  thumbnail
• Select: thumbnails
• Set the value to: true
• Click OK.

Have you set a thumbnail filter?:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  thumbnail
• Any values shown as changed here? (in bold)
• Click OK.

Maybe Everything is stuck loading different thumbnail.
-Please try restarting Everything. (File -> Exit)

Nothings changed in your settings.

Restarted through task manager and nothing has changed. For some reason even in windows Explorer, thumbnails are not showing

In Windows Explorer, From the ... button click Options.
Click the View tab.
Uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails.
Click OK.

Override this setting in Everything:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  icon
• Select: icons_only
• Set the value to: false
• Click OK.

Just so you know, thumbnails stopped working in v1.5a.

Affects all drives.

Tools->Options->Advanced->"Thumbnails" = true (always has been true)

It was working fine up until recently.

Image Preview works (selecting an image) but that's not enough.

Notes:
Regular Windows 10 File Explorer shows thumbnails just fine.

The only other utility that i just updated was XnViewMP (awesome image viewer)

I just updated XnViewMP and maybe that caused the problem.

I uninstalled/rebooted/tested/reinstalled XnViewMP, etc. but Everything thumbnails in Alpha 1.5a still not working
I tried various things, no luck.

is Everything installed to C:\Program Files?

-If not, please try enabling os_allow_dll_exe_directory:

• From the Start menu, search for:
  regedit
• Right click Registry Editor and click Run as administrator.
• In the Registry Editor, navigate to:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies
• Create the following key:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\voidtools
• Create the following key:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\voidtools\Everything
• In this new key, on the right, create a new DWORD value.
• Set the value name to:
  os_allow_dll_exe_directory
• Set the value data to:
  1

Restart Everything (Everything -> File -> Exit)

TL;DR: i eventually got thumbnails working again.

FYI, yes ... C:\Program Files\Everything 1.5a

Details on what i did:

After rebooting a few times with no luck, I just started from scratch:
- uninstalled XnView
- uninstalled Everything (both 1.4 and 1.5a),
- made sure background services were fully uninstalled too

- did a cold reboot

- Installed XnView first (not sure if that mattered)
- Installed Everything 1.5a (not 1.4)
- In Everything i rebuilt all the indexes:
Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> [Force Rebuild]

Came back later and the thumbnails were back.

Hope this helps others experiencing issues with thumbnails.
