Bring up UI with single click of system tray icon.

Post by gbrao »

Please provide a option to bring up the UI with a single click of the system tray icon. Right now, afaik, it needs a double click. Thanks, nice prog.

You can open Everything with a single click from the system tray icon with the latest beta.

To enable opening an Everything window with a single click from the system tray:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the UI tab.
  • Check Single click tray.
  • Click OK.

OK, thanks.
Using Everything-1.3.2.643b.zip, single-click works. If it is not too much trouble, could you provide the 'reverse' too : if the window is open, it should close when the tray icon is clicked.

Please confirm the portable version is truely portable ( no files/directories created out of the install directory, no reg entries created ). And, is it OK to use '.' (no quotes) as the database location in Options->Indexes ? That is, if I move the install directory, Everything will still use the same db from the moved location. I guess what I'm asking is 'are relative paths allowed ?' .

I will reconsider this option.

Yes, Everything will not modify the system in anyway (unless you modify any of the settings in Tools -> Options -> General).

By default Everything will store the Everything.db file in the same location as your Everything.exe.

Yes, if you keep the Everything.exe and the Everything.db file together.
I guess what I'm asking is 'are relative paths allowed ?'
Yes, however, they are not relative to the current working directory, they are instead relative to your Everything.exe file.
