Greetings David...LONG time no communicate.
Do we still have any valid reason(s) that along with Everything 1.5, that we can't utilize select or copy functions from within the optional Preview window only when the Preview window is open, with only Ctrl + C being active, yet using the mouse to select text or readable text data has never worked ? ?
Back in 2019, I seem to remember that during our conversations you mentioned that it might swell Everything code, yet was always hoping that the quicker, more UI user acceptable to just utilize Select via highlight > Right Mouse Copy (to clipboard) would eventually come to pass.
Glad to see Everything 1.5, no matter what, as the improvements are very good indeed.

Re: Preview easy copy with mouse
It is up to the preview handler (the "program" that shows the file in the preview pane) to implement this (or not).
The preview handlers come with Windows and are not a part of Everything (Everything just uses what is available).
Third party preview handlers are available that come with extra features. For example, I am currently building [1] my own text preview handler that does indeed support your suggestion.
[1] Well ... building might be a little exaggerated; just doing some plumbing and redirection to make existing components working together.

Egg-cellent. May we presume that your or Void Tools own Preview handler will make it into the eventual Everything 1.5 final code ?
I frankly trust your code over other third-party Preview handlers ever since I wen to to war back in the Windows 7 SP1 days, and can appreciate your doing DIY on a Void's own version thankfully supporting mouse or keyboard select and Copy, etc.
BTW, with Windows 11, I finally dawned on me that EverythingToolbar and also Wox slick integrates Everything -- hopefully 1.5 as well, I will test to be sure -- into taking the place of Win 11's deplorable Search / Index services, which like most power users I long ago got rid of.

Not for Everything 1.5.
I still have on my TODO list to add my own text preview handler.

Re: Preview easy copy with mouse
Using Total Commander file manager this is an easy job.
There are several Lister preview plugins
which all have a lot of context menu options inside a text preview.
For example

Windows 11 Home Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.8737)
Everything 1.5.0.1416b (x64), Everything Toolbar 2.4.1
Total Commander 11.58 x64 / x86
