First, I would like to tell you that I have been using your programme as a Hobby User since Okt. 2008, and it is always the first programme I install... XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 & 11. Thank you for that!

I would like to ask about a possible extension for Everything.

On macOS, there is a tool called KeyCue that displays all keyboard shortcuts of the currently active application when the Command key is pressed and held...

...If a folder containing frequently used programs (e.g., Total Commander, XYplorer, Everything, FastStone Capture, Listary, Clipboard Tool — portable versions) is indexed in Everything, would it be possible for Everything to extract and display the keyboard shortcuts defined within each program’s configuration files, perhaps via a bookmark or a custom command?

In other words, could Everything read known configuration files (for example INI-based applications) and present defined hotkeys in a structured, searchable way?

Sometimes it happens that you assign a keyboard shortcut to a command and use it so rarely that you eventually forget it. A searchable overview would help prevent that.

You want to display/search keyboard shortcuts for all programs?
This is beyond the scope of Everything.
It would need to be a separate tool.

If you are trying to display/search keyboard shortcuts for just Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:

about:keys

Not anybody can easily find this command. Can you add it to the Help menu for more convenience?

It will be reworked for Everything 1.6 and added to the options UI.

For now, about:keys is a hidden command for Everything 1.5.
