I've been using Everything for years, but only last week I found out there's a server version. Which is great in a Domain network. Finally, users can search and actually find what they are looking for.
I set up Everything Server on a Windows 2025 Server, added local folders and it works fine. Clients can search the folders on the server without any hassle. The next thing was a little more involved. We have a Synology NAS, holding our archive. So how do I get Everything to include those files as well? Simply adding the path to the share on the NAS (like \\NAS\Archive) didn't work. I had to add the NAS under Indexes > Network Drives as '\\NAS\Archive' and a drive letter (Q:) as Mount Path. Then under Everything Server, just add the previously configured Mount Path (Q:\) and you're done. On the client, Everything now serves up the files from the archive as well.

To add your NAS share to your Everything index:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Folders tab on the left.
- Click Add....
- Select your NAS share (for example: \\NAS\Archive) and click OK.
- Click OK.
