How to disable automatic search from clipboard in Everything 1.5

Post by parktaije »

Hello,

I am using Everything 1.5.0.1404a on Windows 10.

When I copy text to the clipboard, the text is automatically inserted into Everything’s search box and a search is performed.

I would like to disable this behavior.
Could you please tell me where this setting can be configured?

Thank you.

Everything doesn't have a feature to do this.

Where are you copying text from?
If it's your webbrowser, please check if you have an extension installed that calls Everything.

If copying anywhere searches in Everything, what programs are running on startup?
(Please check in the Task Manager under the Startup tab)

When I copy text to the clipboard, the text is automatically inserted into Everything’s search box and a search is performed.
While Everything may not be able to cause that - to insert the clipboard text into Everything's search box,
Everything can read the clipboard, & perform a search on that clipboard contents,
if your Everything search were set to,
clipboard:
(but note that that does not insert the clipboard contents into the search box).
