I've been using voidtools Everything for a couple of years intermittently.
Today I've loaded it up and I wasn't getting the results I expected. As as a test, I tried searching for a word ("personhood") that I know exists in a .docx file I know exists, but the file isn't returned. I reinstalled Everything 1.5a, but still getting the problem.
In the Options>Indexes>Content, I've checked "index file content". And "include only files" includes *.docx and *.pdf
Here's my search term. I've tried variations of this, like removing the quote marks. [Username] is my actual username
C:\Users\[UserName]\Desktop content:"personhood"
The word is being returned from another .pdf file in the same directory, but it's not being returned from the .docx file where I also know it exists.
What do I need to do?
Voidtools is not finding a word in a file

Re: Voidtools is not finding a word in a file
I've done some searching and checked Windows Control Panel's IndexingOptions>Advanced>FileTypes. I noticed the docx entry was checked, but read "registered ifilter is not found".
- I downloaded the filters from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... x?id=17062
- I then checked Control Panel's IndexingOptions>Advanced>Rebuild and I'm currently waiting for this to build. After that I'll try re-indexing in Everything.

Please make sure you are using the x64 version of Everything.
Please try re-installing Office, something might be up with the docx iFilter.
Please try si: (system index) instead of content:
For example:
There's no need to index content with Everything if you use Windows indexing.
