Like the title suggests it's been a week since I'm facing this issue. Whenever I try to preview a video file (mp4, mkv) the system hangs indefinitely and I have to kill the process and restart. Picture/Sound preview works fine.
I tried downgrading to older version.
I tried using a clean portable version.
But still the result is same.
Did anyone faced the same issue as mine?
Video Preview hangs the system!!!
Re: Video Preview hangs the system!!!
There are no common problems viewing videos in Everything.
The culprit is your player software, which is not part of Everything.
Does previewing in Explorer work for such files ?
Personally, I have K-Lite Standard Codec installed, which contains the MPC-HC player.
This combi plays fine any format I ever encountered.

Re: Video Preview hangs the system!!!
Thank you for your reply.
Like you said I checked the explorer and yes there seems to be an issue too. And then I checked using the PreviewHandlerEditor and found out that somehow my "Windows Media Player Rich Preview Handler" suddenly went missing from the system's registered list. Once I added it back, the video preview is working again.
Thanks for the clue.
