Some global hotkeys ignored in certain panels and toolbar

I realized that some hotkeys do not work properly when set as global. Here is an example:

When I assign **Ctrl + Space** to the **Focus Search Edit** command as a **global hotkey**, I expect it to work in **all areas of Everything**.

However, this hotkey does not respond when the focus is inside certain panels such as the **Preview panel**, **Filter panel**, **Bookmark panel**, or on the **Toolbar**.

As shown in the attached GIF, pressing **Ctrl + Space** in these areas has no effect.



### Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to *Tools → Options → Keyboard* and assign **Ctrl + Space** to the **Focus Search Edit** command with the global option enabled.
2. Open the Preview, Filter, or Bookmark panel.
3. Press **Ctrl + Space**.
4. Notice that the search box does not receive focus.


### Suggested solution:

Global hotkeys should truly work **globally**, even when the focus is on auxiliary panels (Preview, Filter, Bookmark, Toolbar, etc.).

Thank you for the issue report ajaberi,

keyboard shortcuts in the sidebars are currently hard coded and cannot be overwritten.

I will consider keyboard customization for sidebars in a future release of Everything.



For now, please try a different keyboard shortcut, eg: Ctrl + Alt + Space.

**It’s very strange, because the issue I described in that topic—for example, “Ctrl+Space”—was already resolved using the settings shown in the image below.**

Just be aware that hotkeys are system wide, so Ctrl + Space anywhere will show the Everything window.
This might cause conflicts where you need to press Ctrl + Space in another program.
Please consider Ctrl + Alt + Space or other less used keyboard shortcut for a hotkey.
