In the Folder Bar (speaking here of when it is on the left) typically you have it scrolled so that the child folders you are working with are fully in view with the parent folders truncated (if any are).
Currently when you resize the Folder Bar edge the impact is on the right hand part of the folders (though sometimes it scrolls) so resizing to make it smaller, the priority child folders are lost, and when you resize the Folder Bar edge to be larger it adds extra space though often you are enlarging to see more of the parent folders rather than provide more space for deeper child folders.
Can I suggest keeping the current arrangements but that shift-resizing the folder bar causes the decrease/increase of space effectively to occur on the left hand side not the right hand side, i.e. the child folders maintain their position relative to the right edge and the parent folders of the tree receive more or less space. Effectively the folder bar will just scroll the same amount as you resize it (as far as it can).
With the two combinations (unmodified and modified) a person can control resizing properly without having to use the bottom scroll bar to fix the result.
* Plus there's the issue of when the folder bar is a tiny width to maximise results list space, and you drag over that tiny slither of a bar - I think it should temporarily enlarge its width to show the folders and allow the drop and then go back to its tiny size when you move off it. I think that should happen whether dragging something onto it or just mousing over it (as that would allow changing folder when just a small slither). I think this can be controlled by an option that says that when mousing over it should have a minimum width W (enlarging temporarily to W).

Re: Folder Bar : shift-resizing the bar edge / tiny widths
I will consider such an option. Can I suggest keeping the current arrangements but that shift-resizing the folder bar causes the decrease/increase of space effectively to occur on the left hand side not the right hand side
I have put on my TODO list to temporarily expand the folder sidebar when dragging over.* Plus there's the issue of when the folder bar is a tiny width to maximise results list space, and you drag over that tiny slither of a bar - I think it should temporarily enlarge its width to show the folders and allow the drop and then go back to its tiny size when you move off it.
I will consider an option to do this.or just mousing over it
Thank you for the suggestions.
