When I open a new folder as a new tab (through one of the methods) it duplicates the active filter.
This is problematic for shortcuts (.lnk) whose targets fall outside the scope of the active filter.
When opening a new tab from a .lnk can I recommend reading the .lnk target and if it falls outside the scope to open the new tab with Everything filter rather than the existing one you had come from.

Re: New tabs from .lnk : Duplicating filter dependent on target
New tabs will use your home settings (Tools -> Options -> Home -> Filter)
I will consider an option to reset the filter to Everything if no results are found.
Thank you for the suggestion.
The filter can also be specified in your "Search in Everything" command under regedit ->
For example:
-filter

The filter can also be specified in your "Search in Everything" command under regedit ->
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Search Everything 1.5a...\commandFor example:
"C:\Program Files\Everything\Everything.exe" -path "%1" -filter "Everything"-filter

Re: New tabs from .lnk : Duplicating filter dependent on target
That would also cover other scenarios in a useful way.
Some of my filters are folder-finders (using folder:) and when you create a new tab from one of the results you want the filter dropped in the created tab so you can see the contents, and your solution would also do this.
