A minor point...
Whilst it doesn't make sense to drop a folder onto itself, it does make sense to Alt-Drag a folder onto itself, creating a shortcut in it to itself. This has a use when you are copying folders to a ram drive, working on them, and when ready copying back using the shortcut that's in it to send them back.
Currently this Alt-Dropping is blocked.

Re: Alt-Drop folder into self
I will consider allowing folders to be dropped on themself when using a modifier key.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: Alt-Drop folder into self
Everything 1.5.0.1397a will now allow Ctrl + Shift and Alt modifiers when dropping a folder on itself.
These modifiers will allow you to create a shortcut to itself.
