Navigation history issue when using non-default Open (Folders) command

Post by Mrvous »

My issue is kinda weird and have been around since forever, but recently realised that it wasn't a widespread issue, since I couldn't find anything about it when searching here. I did a basic troubleshoot by looking at the debug console and noticed that the issue appear only after doing the "command" from my "Open (Folders)" Context Menu, which I set to $explore-in-everything("%1")

Basically, I want to browse my folders in Everything either in the folders tree or in the main window.

The actual issue is that after a couple of browsing in folders and doing "back", either with ALT+LEFT or "XButton1" on my mouse, the navigation history gets "de-synced" and will replace the older root folder with another folder that was previously browsed to.

Exemple:
"K:\Downloads\Films\"
In this folder I have a many folders, so I browse into them,
"K:\Downloads\Films\123" => back "K:\Downloads\Films\" => "K:\Downloads\Films\222" => pressing back will put my back into 123 folder instead of Films.

Sorry if it's confusing, but I can provide any more info or clarifications as needed! Thanks in advance btw. :)

Thank you for the issue report Mrvous,

I am aware of an issue with navigation history not restoring the folder sidebar selection correctly.
It will be fixed in the next alpha update.

Everything 1.5.0.1397a fixes an issue with losing navigation history.

Does the issue persist with this version?

Hello Void,

After updating Everything and doing some tests, I can confirm that the issue is not present anymore!

Huge thanks, I really appreciate your work! :)
Your software is very useful and the integration in Windhawk "Better file sizes in Explorer details" that allows to see folder sizes in Windows Explorer is game changer.
