Hi all,
Since a couple of days (re)scanning of my external NAS devices has slowed down to a crawl. On inspecting the status bar it is on 44% for hours now, scanning 1 file a second. And obviously there are millions... What can I do to trouble shoot this issue? Never had this before.
Cheers,
Hans
Scanning extremely slow
Re: Scanning extremely slow
Are "Windows" operations on the NAS also slow?
Are you indexing Properties, or only file names?
Is the NAS NTFS?
Are you using Folder or Network Indexing?

Piggy-backing here rather than creating a separate thread.
Not OP, but I am doing something similar, and I am indexing properties (for the 2nd time because I goofed on the original set of properties). Am I missing something, or is there no debug info in statistics specific to indexing properties? I see that the file indexing took 1.5hrs or so, but the properties indexing must have taken much much longer the first time, as it alone has been 3 hours and I'm 18% through.
