Bookmarks : Sort A-Z

Post by meteorquake »

Title says it all!
You right-click a bookmarks selection and it sorts the highlighted items A-Z, if just 0 or 1 items selected then sorts all (or you could require people to select all to be safe)
Where items are not contiguous I think they could all bunch to the topmost item (much as happens when you drag non-contiguous items to a new point)
I think ditto in Filters too...

An option to sort Bookmarks by Name is on my TODO list.

I will consider an option to sort filters too.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Unfortunately, it does not

For the time of selection - or permanently? And you want see sort option in the context menu, right?

An option to be able to rearrange Bookmarks and Filters using alphabetic ascending / descending order would be nice, especially if it would be for selected items and not bluntly for all. But then there is the issue of Separators - I think a good solution would be to move them automatically to top of the selected list of entries

As I envisage it -
In the Bookmarks Organiser this would be a permanent sort, in the Bookmarks Finder it would usually be unnecessary since it has a Find feature.
For the separators I would imagine it would operate like Firefox separators where the separators by dividing the bookmarks into clumps lead to the clumps sorting individually within.
To achieve what I think you're suggesting with separators going to the top I would envisage you'd just drag the separator(s) of interest to the top of your planned selection and then select-sort.
