Custom action for Middle Click

Post by soul4kills »

Any plans to add custom default file/folder action on Middle Click? Similar to customizing of the context menu in options.

The mbutton_action ini setting can be set to any command ID.

However, this cannot be done from Tools -> Options -> Advanced. (edit: it only has limited actions here)
You'll need to change it in your Everything.ini or from the search box.
For example:
  • Copy and paste the following into your Everything search box:
    /mbutton_action=41512

where 41512 is your desired action.
  • Press ENTER in your Everything search box.
  • If successful, mbutton_action=41512 is shown in the status bar for a few seconds.
What custom action are you looking to use?

So I found the wiztree filter someone else posted in the forums. So i set my click on folders to default as explorering it further in everything rather than opening it in windows. So I wanted a way to open the folder in windows with the middle click instead of having to use the context menu whenever it's needed.

That's the reason for the suggestion. But the same options as in the contextmenu tab would be great. I will try out your suggestion.

edit: thankyou works great. I've set CUSTOM_OPEN_COMMAND01 to $openpath("%1"). And works as expected.

Please try setting your mbutton_action to Open Path:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Advanced tab on the left.
  • To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
    mbutton
  • Select: mbutton_action
  • Set the value to: Open Path
  • Click OK.

The second suggestion is even more convenient. Thank you void.
