My default (opening) search is on my data drive T: looking for MSWord2003 DOCuments.
So far so good.
I have been in the habit of appending a search term in the search box, changing the search from
Code: Select all
t:\ ext:doc Code: Select all
t:\ ext:doc WPThis has involved tapping the <Tab> key once to jump FROM the results box TO the search box, tapping the <End> key to jump to the RHS of the current search box content, after which I can type the initials "WP to locate something like "WP20260124.DOC"
Today my fingers (or perhaps my mind) slipped, and while the Results List was still in play, I got as far as typing a letter "W" and to my (still) surprise and glee, I was taken to the next "W" document.
Repeatedly tapping the "W" key visits successive "W" items in the result list.
I predict that 49.5% of responses will be along the lines of "Well doh! Chris; it's always been like that"
And another 49.5% will respond along the lines of "Big deal, you're not really saving us much time here, Chris"
But one percent of you will smile and nod your heads because you too, like me, have been surprised whenever you find that Everything is always ready to step in with a better way of searching for a file.
Thank You Void!
Cheers, Chris
