Opening Everything (1.4.1.1032) loads database then crashes

Post by Oshida »

it started today, even tho i haven't updated Everything or my pc or anything since yesterday.

Trying to open Everything just open the app, then it loads the database/updates it, then it just dies.

i installed E1.5A just to get a way to find if any log was written/created, i found the CrashDump in attachments

Not sure what else i can provide to help

Thank you for the issue report and crash dump Oshida,

I am looking into the issue..

For now, please try a fresh index:
In Windows Explorer, type in the following address and press ENTER:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything

Delete your Everything.db
Restart Everything.

Well i have no explanation, 2 hours after i made this post, i randomly started Everything again instead of the alpha version... and it just works ?

So i have no idea what happened, i haven't rebooted my pc or anything that should have fixed it.

But at least i know that if it break again i have to deleted the db

Sorry for that.

From the dmp file, Everything is trying to update your index.
An NTFS folder was deleted, so Everything is removing this folder from your index.
Unfortunately, the index is corrupt so Everything crashes.

Deleting the db will fix the issue.

Everything 1.5 is more resilient against database corruption.
