3. All other settings seem to have been preserved.
    
4. File > Exit (ALT+F4)
5. Extract "Everything-1.5.0.1407a.x64.zip" to C:\Everything and overwrite file "Everything.exe" - 1.5.0.1406a
6. Start C:\Everything\Everything.exe - 1.5.0.1407a by double-clicking this file
7. Everything 1.5.0.1407a (x64) is shown
8. Everything Options - 1.5.0.1407a (x64)
9. Index file content: ... displays only the default setting

Please check.
(I only noticed it because, when I ran a backup, the Everything.db file was suddenly much smaller: 129 808 442 Bytes vs. 1 996 886 869 Bytes)

The content indexing settings were renamed in Everything 1.5.0.1407a to be more consistent with my naming rules.

Everything 1407a+ will load your old settings.

include_file_content => content_indexing_enabled
content_include_only_folders => content_indexing_include_only_folders
content_exclude_folders => content_indexing_exclude_folders
content_include_only_files => content_indexing_include_only_files
content_exclude_files => content_indexing_exclude_files
content_exclude_not_content_indexed => content_indexing_exclude_not_content_indexed
content_exclude_recall_on_data_access => content_indexing_exclude_recall_on_data_access
content_max_size => content_indexing_max_size
content_max_size_unit => content_indexing_max_size_unit

ini setting names might change while in alpha.
They will not change once in beta.



You will need to rename these settings if you want to go back to 1406a or earlier.

You will need to rename these settings if you want to go back to 1406a or earlier.

When switching between Everything versions (new > old > new),
if - for whatever reason - options get unchecked and, on top of that, settings are deleted(!),
which have been in place for years - in this case, the “Index file content” option,
then I consider this a critical issue that, in my opinion, should be fixed as a matter of principle.

I was able to restore the settings using a backup.

In the future, I will definitely back up the settings before switching versions and, after switching versions,
compare the settings.

What is the purpose of going backwards?

1. If someone immediately spots a bug in a new version of Everything
    and you've already installed that version (as I have with almost all previous alpha versions),
    you might decide to use a previous version just to be on the safe side.

2. If I find a search result or behavior of Everything that doesn't make sense to me,
    I would first run a test using an earlier version before posting on the forum.
