Remember Bookmark Settings

Everything 1.5.0.1407a will no longer remember bookmark settings by default.

Only the Search is remembered by default.

For example:
You enable Match Case from the Search menu and add a bookmark with the search:

FOO

The bookmark will not remember the Match Case setting. You will need to manually set Match Case to Enabled.

The old behavior still required you to set Match Case to Enabled, but adding another bookmark would then remember the Match Case setting.
This leads to a lot of undesired setting changes when opening bookmarks.


If you prefer to have Everything remember search settings:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  bookmark
• Adjust any of the bookmark_remember_* settings to true.
• Click OK.

I'm sure you've given this matter alot more thought than I just did, so don't take this as a suggestion, but, rather, a hopefully interesting idea: all the settings this is about have their Search Modifier equvalents, so adding a bookmark could save a search string containing all the proper modifiers. This way, there would be no undesired setting changes AND one would get the same exact search as when adding the bookmark.

Taking this further, opening a bookmark like the one suggested above could filter out the search modifiers that would double the current state.

I ran into this too.

I have already made the following enabled by default for the next update:
bookmark_remember_case
bookmark_remember_wholeword
bookmark_remember_path
bookmark_remember_diacritic
bookmark_remember_prefix
bookmark_remember_suffix
bookmark_remember_ignore_punctuation
bookmark_remember_ignore_whitespace
bookmark_remember_regex

This is an easier option than manipulating the bookmark search with modifiers.

The settings to remember the view state will be off by default.
