pressing ctrl f for search in version 1.5 (solved)

Post by irish »

Trying out version 1.5
okay, confused about how search works in version 1.5
I open the program. cursor or whatever the term is appears in the search box.
So i can type in search query straight away.
ctrl f now lets you search for txt within the search results.
ah, pressing "escape" brings you back to the search box.
Took me a while to think of pressing the "escape" button.
Very nice. Thank you.

Ctrl + F shows the Find bar by default in Everything 1.5.

To set Ctrl + F to focus the search box instead:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
  • To the right of Show commands containing, search for:
    search focus
  • Select: Search Edit | Focus Search Edit
  • Click Add....
  • Press Ctrl + F and click OK.
  • Click OK.

Other ways to focus the search box:
Press Backspace in the result list.
