[Solved] .opus property data?

Post by Herkules97 »

Idk if there is something more relevant than this
viewtopic.php?p=75476#p75476

I intend to delete some files, but before I do I wanted to index them and never re-scan that folder.
I've now done that whole folder, at least what remained there since previous deletions..But no .opus files are being read beyond size on disk? All media properties are empty.
Post above also had opus in it, the ini setting has opus in it but I guess that's just Directory Opus's tags?
Do I need to install something to read the data with EBV? MPC-HC, foobar2000 and mp3tag can read the data.
I was using length: to find anything still missing that. Only .opus remains on that folder.

And for questions about what one of these files even are, here is the full MPC-HC tab

The link you posted is about Directory Opus, a filemanager.
It is not related to .opus audio files.

As a test, could you do the following?
  • In the Everything resultlist, select one .opus file, for example your KAYZO - HARD SUMMER 2017.opus
  • Right-click the header of the result list
  • Select Add Columns
  • In the left pane, select Everything Properties
  • In the right pane, right-click the column header, for example on Name
  • Select Preview
  • See if your properties come up in the Preview column
    if not:
  • In the left pane, select Windows Property System (at the bottom of the list)
  • See if your properties come up in the Preview column
Were the properties found?

As I already index many media properties, the expected behaviour is that the preview will fail too.
It is only opus, currently about 51K opus files have no additional data. Size on disk being indexed implies they all have what EBV can index.
You can see media data for opus?
Maybe I have to upload the file and see if it's different for you or void too.

Is this website currently having issues for you too? Like pressing submit leads to a "page does not exist" immediately or the submit takes longer.
I think it's happened some year ago so maybe it's a thing that can happen. I just try to submit and ESC whenever it takes too long. Also sometimes the submit button previews instead it seems heh

Alright so it just sent 2 other posts and I can't delete either of them..Can one of you do that?

Everything currently does not support Ogg Opus.
I have put this on my TODO list.

For now, you would have to install a third party property handler and use the Windows Property System in Everything to read these properties.

I found another type that seems to be unsupported, though this seems to be less than 0.1% of the total of incompletely indexed files. 300K might be ogg-opus, 59 ends on .aif. Maybe there are more as most of the incomplete 300K end on .mp3 and the few I checked were all ogg-opus. Or they are all ogg-opus and I only have 59. Idk if you want to add this to the todo list, but I'm at least bringing it up.
