Everything 1.5 causing mouse lag movement

When using everything 1.5 as service the mouse starts to move slow/delayed/floaty like on ice. when I disable the "run as service" it runs fine
I am also using Winhawk to capture the data to show FOLDERS Size on explorer, but it's not the reason that it is causing that lag

Could you please send some debug output:

• In Everything, From the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab.
• Disable the service.
• From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Start Debug Logging...
• In Everything, From the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab.
• Enable the service.
• Wait for the mouse to feel like it's ok ice.
• From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Stop Debug Logging...
  ---This will open your %TEMP%\Everything Debug Log.txt in Notepad.
• Could you please upload this file in a bug report.

It could be a high CPU usage issue...
Please try lowering the number of threads used by Everything:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  threads
• Select: max_threads
• Set the value to: 1
• Click OK.

Does the issue persist?



It could be a large standby cache issue.
Accessing an NTFS volume directly can cause system pauses if there's millions of files in your standby cache.
(it's usually one long pause, not stuttering pauses)
Please try clearing your standby cache:

• Download RamMap from Microsoft.
• In RamMap, from the empty menu, click Empty standby list.

but did disable "Start Everything on system startup",
at which point it appeared that mouse cursor was more normal?

And you did not Exit Everything, is that correct?

At the beginning the service was disabled. the 2nd time I showed I enabled it using the Recommended option circle.
I always close Everything on X no matter if it's running background or not.

The lag starts as soon it runs as services

I also enable the Run On Background as I am using WinHawk for the background Folder Size
It doesn't work until I have Everything opened.

I don't know where the file, it just open notepad...... and I can't find the file there

at the moment, the Standbymemory is very high yes, but it also happens aftera straight Windows restart.
I will test it when cleared though

Please change your Everything database location:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Index tab on the left.
• Clear the database location.
  Everything will be unable to write to C:\Program Files\Everything 1.5a
  The default location is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
• Click OK.

Please make sure Everything is set to run on startup:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Run Everything on system startup.
• Click OK.

You're set to (a wanted) 1ms, where defaults are (from what I understand) more around 10-25ms.
(And for whatever reason, the lower [timer] setting & the Everything Service are competing... ?)

I didn't use ISCL when it started happening, I just started ISCL to fix other issue that causing game stuttering when there is no free memory because StandBymemory.
it is always 1MS because my audio sound card Asus Xonar DX asks it to be

It reads like you deliberately run it as with the "service".

As someone that doesn't, I am curious if you've noticed any issues running it without?

I imagine Void still wants to know what the issue might be to fix it in his code, but I suppose if you didn't pick service intentionally as I think you said you used recommended settings and maybe that's to run EBV with the service then you might want to run it without service. However then EBV couldn't have whatever possible bug there is fixed.
