Here are just 2 ideas for improvement for this awesome piece of software.
1. I rely on Run Count to sort my results. When I move a folder or file, the associated run counts for those files go back to zero. I don't know if it's possible to have the run count stick with all the files when folders or files are moved to another location.
2. I store my collection of videos and movies on a network-attached storage (NAS). Usually, I do not include this in my index for Everything Search. It has a lot of junk files (eg fanart) that make daily searches messy. On weekends though, I like to search for movie titles in a few specific folders. I don't know if it's possible to go back and forth between 2 or more different index sources. My main index would contain all the important folders and files on my local drive. And then occasionally, it'd be great if I could temporarily focus the search to my movie folders. I don't want the indexing to change because that takes time. If 2 different index databases could be stored/saved, it would be great.

I use 1.5. Can 1.4 do my suggestions? Or 1.4 doesn't have run counts?

Re: A Few Suggestions (e.g. Run Count Stays with File)
I will consider an option to have the run count follow the file.1. I rely on Run Count to sort my results. When I move a folder or file, the associated run counts for those files go back to zero. I don't know if it's possible to have the run count stick with all the files when folders or files are moved to another location.
Thank you for the suggestion.
For now, Everything tracks run count from the filename.
Please consider multiple instances.2.
For example:
Everything.exe -instance NAS
Setup this NAS instance to index only your NAS.

I would just like to also make the same request about run count.void wrote: Sun Feb 15, 2026 11:27 pm I will consider an option to have the run count follow the file.
Thank you for the suggestion.
For now, Everything tracks run count from the filename.
Or at least when you change the filename through Everything, that the file keeps the run count. Maybe every time you start editing a filename, Everything somehow stores the runcount, and automatically applies it right after you change the name? Right now you have to manually remember the run count, right click and change the run count every single time. If it is a lot of files it becomes a lot of work.
I understand if this is somehow very complicated to implement and don't want to pressure or complain just wanted to add my voice.
I have seen that this feature has been requested many times before in previous years so I think we are a lot of people who would be very happy if it was implemented.
Thank you for your work.
