I am experiencing an issue with Everything 1.15.01396a (latest version on Windows 11 25H2 26200.7705).
When I double-click an audio file (e.g., .mp3) in Everything, instead of opening it with the default application, it often goes into “rename file” mode. This behavior is **dangerous**, as it has already caused me to accidentally change original file names.
This problem occurs **only in Everything**; in other file management/search tools like Windows Explorer, MasterSeeker, double-clicking the same files opens them correctly in their default applications.
I would like to know:
1. Is there a way to **disable rename on double-click** in Everything?
2. Can Everything be configured so that **double-click always opens the file** with its default application, without affecting file names?

Re: double-click an audio file - issue
There's no option to rename on double click.1. Is there a way to **disable rename on double-click** in Everything?
Everything is likely only seeing a single click.
Please try disabling select_text_click_action:
- In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Advanced tab on the left.
- To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
click - Select: selected_text_click_action
- Set the value to: None
- Click OK.
That is always the default behavior.2. Can Everything be configured so that **double-click always opens the file** with its default application, without affecting file names?
Please try disabling select_text_click_action as mentioned above and see if the issue persists.
