No more search results after adding network share

Hi,

I am using Everything-1.5.0.1404a.x64 on Windows 11 Pro (but the problem was similar with 1.4). I did a fresh install with default options. Search is working as expected. Then I add a network drive and the search window becomes empty and all search results are empty. Status bar shows scanning the network drive.

When I remove the network drive nothing changes. If I kill service and user process and restart, everything works normally again.

I tried this with my NAS nd also some Webdav drives with the same result.

Any help appreciated.

It will take a long time to index your NAS for the first time.

Hover over the progress bar in the status bar to monitor which folder Everything is currently scanning.

I understand that indexing the NAS will take a long time. But I have 2M+ files in NFTS which were shown before adding the network storage. Now the list is empty and I cannot search.

Update:
Today I tried again to add network drives. Again after that I added them the file list blanked. But this time it only took like 10s and the list reappeared and I am able to search. The only difference: I rebooted in the mean time, what I didn't after the installation.

You will be unable to search while the initial index takes place.

Please wait for the initial index to complete.
Once completed, rescans are done daily in the background and you will be able to search immediately after opening Everything.

OK, thanks for you quick responses.

Probably the reboot solved some network problems which caused the initial index creation to freeze in the first time.
