Suggestion #1
I will frequently select a search result, which upon opening in my file explorer, I realize isn't what I'm looking for. I'll reopen Everything Search but the search results are gone. It would be awesome if the previous search results remain. Frequently, I will forget what I had just searched for, and I'll start smashing my closed fist into my head for 30 seconds or so while I try to remember. This happens several times per day. (Yes, I could go back and look at the search history but that's a few more clicks and mouse movements.)
What would be perfect is that when you reopen Everything Search, the previous results remain. If you press tab, it will start to highlight them. But if you start to type a new search, the results will clear and the new search results will appear as you type.
Suggestion #2
One of my column categories is "Folder Name". When double-click, I would love it if it would open the folder. Right now, my file explorer opens and nothing happens.
Previous Search Results are NOT Cleared.

To make Everything remember your last search:What would be perfect is that when you reopen Everything Search, the previous results remain.
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Home tab on the left.
- Change Search to: (Use last value)
- Click OK.
Everything doesn't have the option to do this, "Folder Name" is a Windows Property System property. One of my column categories is "Folder Name". When double-click, I would love it if it would open the folder. Right now, my file explorer opens and nothing happens.
Everything doesn't really know what this property is.
Double click in the Path column to open the folder.

I learn something new every day.Change Search to: (Use last value)
I guess nothing can be done. ☹Everything doesn't really know what this property is…Double click in the Path column to open the folder.
I do click the path column usually. But the Path column frequently doesn't show the last folder name because the pathname is too long. So I look at the folder name column and then instinctively click it since I want to go that folder.
Oh well, not a big deal. Thanks!

Please try the Path column with either path_ellipsis or path_narrow.

Wow, you've thought of everything. Nice. I don't have to use the Folder Name column anymore.void wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 9:42 am Please try the Path column with either path_ellipsis or path_narrow.
