I have an external hard drive on which I use Windows' "File History" to save/backup files. But, I don't want its contents searched everytime I use "Everything," since the results become too cumbersome. Usually, I just need to search the files on my computer (C:).
However, sometimes I DO specifically want to search for a file that has been (I think; I hope) saved on the external hard drive.
So, it would be nice if, in such specific situations, I could just right-click on the "excluded" drive, select "Everything" from the menu, and then search.
This would still leave the drive as "excluded" if I actually opened "Everything" to do a general search of my computer.
Allow on-demand search of "excluded" file or folder

Please consider creating a C: filter:
In Everything, from the Search menu, click Add to filters....
Change the Name to:
Change the Search to:
Click OK.
Filters can be activated from the Search menu, Filter bar (View -> Filter Bar), Filter sidebar (View -> Filters), right clicking the status bar, filter macro or filter keyboard shortcut.
Filters can be organized from Search menu -> Organize filters.
The default filter can be set under Tools -> Options -> Home -> Filter.
Use your C: drive filter by default, and when you want to search your external drive, change the filter to Everything.
