I previously said that Everything Search Engine stops working after a while after installing FileLocator Pro. Let me elaborate a bit.

I have been using Everything Search Engine for years and have never encountered any issues. Recently, I used FileLocator Pro for the first time. After some time, Everything started giving errors—it wouldn’t open, and its shortcut stopped working. I completely uninstalled Everything and then reinstalled it. It worked fine for a while, but two days ago I encountered the same issue again.

Today, I uninstalled and reinstalled it once more, and currently there is no problem. If the issue occurs again, I plan to install the Lite version based on your recommendation.

So, what is the difference between these two versions, and what do you think is the root cause of this issue? If I encounter the same problem with the Lite version as well, what would be the recommended troubleshooting steps?

The Lite version doesn't allow IPC (interprocess communication)

and what do you think is the root cause of this issue?

FileLocator Pro might be calling Everything / using Everything IPC?

If I encounter the same problem with the Lite version as well, what would be the recommended troubleshooting steps?

Please let me know the error message.
Check C:\Program Files\Everything\Everything.exe exists
Check if Everything.exe is running in Task Manager.

From there we can setup debug mode or a mini crash dump.
