Thank you for the issue report kalong911,

Pinyin mode currently doesn't support wildcards.
I have put on my TODO list to apply wildcards (without pinyin) before applying pinyin.
Pinyin with wildcard support is also on my TODO list.

Everything 1.5.0.1405a will now disable pinyin when using wildcards.

Using non-Latin text in your search will also disable pinyin.
For example:

pinyin:你好

will no longer match

nihao
