Internet browser, Everything via context menu

Post by dorcom »

I find myself quite often in a situation where I write or read, or research and come across an. i.e. name of which I know I have a file on my system.
I then wish that I could right-click the word in the article and select "Everything" to start to search and display that namesake in-kind file on my system.

Example:
I read an article about e.g. "inflation" and recall that I have several articles on my system with the word "inflation" in the file name.
I then would like to be able to highlight and right-click aforementioned sample word and start up Everything showing me the files I have with that name.

Possible?

Hi,
It's not a solution “Everything via context menu”, but ...

Here is a description by user NotNull with an image showing a solution in browser Firefox.

You can find a step-by-step guide for the Microsoft EDGE browser here:
12. Button in web browser (Firefox, EDGE) -> to make a search query in 'Everything' (text from the web)

BUTTON in Microsoft EDGE or Firefox

Code: Select all

Name:	'EV' (only example!)
URL:	javascript:location.href='es:'+document.getSelection();void(0);
