External hard drive not being searched

I hooked up a new external hard drive. It is NTFS formatted.

The computer is running Win10 (fully updated).

The drive shows under "Devices and Drives" in This PC. However, Everything will not search it.

The drive is NOT listed in the Excluded List under "Options."

Any ideas why it is not being recognized?

Please make sure your NTFS volume is included in your index:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab on the left.
• Select your external drive.
• Check Include in database.
• Click OK.
