Unable to delete.
Error 2: The file was not found or the filename is invalid or too long.

How do I resolve this?

Please try renaming the file so it has a shorter length.
Then delete the file.

If you still have trouble deleting the file, please try Shift + Delete to permanently delete the file.
(The recycle bin is limited to 259 characters)

Does the file exist?

Please try forcing a rebuild:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab on the left.
  • Click Force Rebuild.
  • Click OK.
Does Everything continue to show the file?

The problem only seems to be on network drives.

I tried version Version 1.4.1.1030 (x64) on another machine and that works fine.

Think I'll downgrade. There was a reason I tried this version

From your shot, it appears the filenames are grayed out?
Similarly, you might expect the .iso to display an actual icon rather then a generic icon?

You will be unable to see mapped network drives from Everything if you run Everything as administrator.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Your Everything 1.5 setup looks good, but maybe Everything 1.5 is still running as administrator?

Is [Administrator] shown in the Everything 1.5 window title bar?

It also looks like Everything is having trouble monitoring your Z: drive for changes.

Could you please capture a debug log:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Start Debug Logging....
  • From the Index menu, click Stop Updating.
  • From the Index menu, click Update indexes.
  • Please try deleting a file on your Z: drive. (One where you are having trouble deleting)
  • From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Stop Debug Logging....
---This will open your %TEMP%\Everything Debug Log.txt in Notepad.
  • Could you please upload this file in a bug report.
