Blue Screen Bug

Post by hell world »

I encountered a stable and reproducible bug while using the Everything software. The specific details are as follows:

1. The device is running Windows 11 Home Chinese Edition, operating system version 26100.7171.

2. The specific issue is that after startup, when Everything is opened for the first time, the system freezes and experiences a blue screen during the initial indexing process, followed by a restart into the BIOS interface.

3. Analysis of the .dmp file indicates an issue with the NVIDIA graphics driver. After reinstalling the driver, opening Everything still causes the system to crash and restart into the BIOS during the indexing process. Multiple attempts have yielded the same result.

Requesting official investigation into the root cause of the issue.

CPU or RAM issue?

-Please try reducing the maximum number of threads to 1 and see if the issue persists:

Make sure Everything is not running.
Open your %APPDATA%\Everything\Everything.ini
Change the following line:
max_threads=0

to:
max_threads=1

Save changes and launch Everything.

Does the issue persist?

Please check your volumes for errors.
  • Please backup anything important on your drive before checking it for errors.
  • In Windows Explorer, right click your drive and click Properties.
  • Click the Tools tab.
  • Click Check now...
  • Click Start
  • If prompted to schedule a scan on the next restart, click Yes.
