Search History, an Edit button might be nice
say you have a long time History item, "ABC*", & it's your #1 hit when you type... A...
but
then you think, wouldn't i be better of with "ww:ABC" instead?
so
you then want to Edit "ABC*" -> "ww:ABC"
but
you can't do that (currently
- now, you can do that manually (editing Search History.csv), which would be fine,
but you have to close Everything first (& like who wants to do that)
- or, you could manually make the change, on disk, then in the Search History dialog,
Delete All, then (re)Import... (your changed, saved on disk) "Search History.csv"
If there were an Edit button, that would be much easier (plus, you're dealing with a one-zy
change, rather then a wholesale "reload" of History, so less potential for "trouble")
-
hmmm..., now, the problem with that... (in the above scenario s/ABC*/ww:ABC/),
is that while "A", before the change, was sufficient to bring up your wanted "ABC*",
now (with "ww:ABC"), you're no longer "A", but instead "ww:A" to bring up the same
hmmm...
- should "ww:" (et al) be ignored when parsing History?
such that "A" still brings up the top hit, 'ABC' - even if it is now (stored as) "ww:ABC" ?
(now, if you specifically type in 'ww:' then obviously it should not be ignored)
-
In any case, an Edit button would still be nice for "simpler" cases; s/ABC*/ABCD*/
