[Feature Request] Context menu for files should be similar to windows explorer

Post by JensOd2 »

I Am on windows 11 and using Beyond compare 4

Most entries in context menu are the same but some are missing in Everything compared to `Windows 11 - Windows Explorer > Show more options`
(I believe that `Windows 11 - Windows Explorer > Show more options` is the same as `Windows 10 - Windows Explorer)

The ones mark yellow comes from Beyond compare and depends on number of files
The other differences I believe comes from PowerToys

Everything:

Windows Explorer > Show more options, 2 files selected

Windows 11 25H2 + Beyond Compare 4.4.7 shows the "Select Left File for Compare" in the Everything 1.4.1.1029 (x64) context menu for me.

Please make sure you are using the x64 version of Everything (Help -> About Everything -> Version)

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.
-although, the "Select Left File for Compare" context menu item is still shown when running as admin for me.
