Searching pictures by color?

Post by BurrowBird »

Hi, I want to search and or sort pictures by the main color they contain. Is this possible in Everything? If not, is there another way to do this on Windows?

Currently not possible with stock Windows/Everything.
It might be possible with third party property system shell extensions.

An option to display and search the average image color in Everything is on my TODO list.

Thank you, good to hear!

I will look around more.
So far I've found people talking about these things in theory, but no app that actually does it.

How would one utilize one of these third party property extensions with Everything? Do you know of any that would work?

Windows Explorer can be extended with more columns and properties with third party property handlers.

See if any exist for Windows Explorer.

Everything can also use these third party property handlers.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I've had little luck finding any shell extension that add new properties at all, let alone anything related to processing images.
