Hello
In version 1.5.0.1363a (Dec 15, 2023), within the Edit List dialog, only the Import (.txt) option remains. The previous build allowed users to quickly paste (Ctrl+V) lists or add items manually through the GUI. These functions were extremely useful for managing custom lists without having to save or browse for files every time.
Could you please restore the following features in upcoming versions?
Paste (Ctrl+V) support in the Edit List window
Manual item entry directly in the list interface (previously possible)
The current setup requires external file creation, which slows down workflows. The older paste and manual entry methods made Everything much faster for advanced users handling dynamic lists.
Thank you for considering restoring these functions and for your continued work on Everything — it’s an exceptional tool.
Best regards,
Request to Restore Paste (Ctrl+V) and Manual Add Features — Version 1.5.0.1363a

Re: Request to Restore Paste (Ctrl+V) and Manual Add Features — Version 1.5.0.1363a
Thank you for your feedback Nancy_Widmore,
Please make sure the list has focus.
-If Ctrl + V isn't working, does right click Paste work??
To inline rename, select an item, then click on the item again. (but slow enough so you don't double click)
Are you referring to the 'Search for a list of filenames' feature in the advanced search dialog?
1391a changed the 'Search for a list of filenames' feature to use includefilelist:"C:\My File Lists\filelist.txt" instead of a large list of filenames.
This was done to improve handling of more than 8000 characters. The search box will appear empty if there's more than 8000 characters.
If you want the old behavior, please use file list slots instead.
Include filelist1: in your search, right click filelist1: -> Edit File List Slot...
This was never removed and still works.Paste (Ctrl+V) support in the Edit List window

Re: Request to Restore Paste (Ctrl+V) and Manual Add Features — Version 1.5.0.1363a
Thank you for your reply.
I'm currently using the latest version 1.5.0.1400a (x64), and I noticed that the option you mentioned is no longer available.
You previously noted that version 1391a changed the "Search for a list of filenames" feature to use:
==========================================================
includefilelist:"C:\My File Lists\filelist.txt"
instead of pasting in a large list of filenames directly.
==========================================================
My original request was whether it's possible to bring back the ability to paste filenames directly, or if that NOT going to slow things down in newer versions. I really appreciate the performance improvements in 1.5.0.1400a—it's noticeably faster!
I hope this clarifies my earlier message. Apologies for the confusion, and thanks again for your support.

Please try file list slots.
Include filelist1: in your search, right click filelist1: -> Edit File List Slot...
Paste your filenames.
I would like to avoid re-adding the old filelist:c:\folder\filename1.txt;c:\folder\filename2.txt;... method in the advanced search as it breaks if there's more than 8000 characters.
I am open to suggestions to make your workflow easier..
