Everything 1397, "gathering" Properties when Property is Indexed
i have Length indexed
i opened a new Window
that Window (carried over from the Window i opened it from) did not (happen to) have the Length
column displayed, so i added it, Length
- it appears, that it is lazy-loading Lengths as i happen to bring that column into view (as it is
not always in view), rather then "just knowing" the Lengths, from index?
if i do the same, open a new Window from an existing Window where Length column has already been
displaying, the Length values are simply "there"
(can't say this is specific to 1397, as my Windows have remained [basically] static for a good
2+ months, & it was probably a fluke that i happened to have picked a Window that happened to
not have Length (column) already displaying. all windows, except for this single new Window,
were opened from Session Restore on putting in 1397.)

Re: Everything 1397, "gathering" Properties when Property is Indexed
Please check if the Length column is the Everything Length property and not the Windows Property System Length column.
To check:
Right click the result list column header and click Organize Properties.
Double click Length.
Is the Length selected under Everything Property or Windows Property System?
The Everything Length property is most likely indexed, while the Windows Property System Length is not.

Re: Everything 1397, "gathering" Properties when Property is Indexed
Almost certain it will be Everything Property (though I'll have to check).
Kind of certain ? that when I added Length to my Length-less window, I would have pulled it from Recent Columns-> ?
Ah, I betcha that "Recent" was Windows Length (from Recent) & not Everything Length.
That would make sense, account for the behavior seen.
(Can't imagine I would have ever [knowingly, wantonly] selected Window's Length.)
I'll note that Window's Length column, 'Length' is right-justified
& with Everything Length column, 'Length' is left-justified.

Re: Everything 1397, "gathering" Properties when Property is Indexed
I have put on my TODO list to show the canonical property name for Windows Property System properties.Ah, I betcha that "Recent" was Windows Length (from Recent) & not Everything Length.
Everything uses the alignment from the IPropertyDescription.I'll note that Window's Length column, 'Length' is right-justified
& with Everything Length column, 'Length' is left-justified.
Some windows properties implement this. Some don't. Some use odd alignments.
I will consider support to override the alignment.
Re: Everything 1397, "gathering" Properties when Property is Indexed
in session.json, Windows Length is "property-system:System.Media.Duration"
a much easier way to search for it (compared to looking through tabs)
& no, i do not have "Media.Duration" in my Session.json
so...
best i can figure ? is that /maybe/ i noticed a discrepancy between Everything Length,
& (was going to say a Windows Length, but most likely it was) a MediaInfo Length, so
maybe ? i added Windows Length to see how that compared (& then removed it shortly
thereafter) & so "Length" ended up in Recent ? so when i happened upon that Length-less
window, when i selected "Length" from Recent, i (by chance) happened to end up with
Windows Length rather then Everything Length?
if i manually add Windows Length, i see (slow) behavior as described, so something
like above must be what had occurred

Re: Everything 1397, "gathering" Properties when Property is Indexed
Everything 1.5.0.1400a will now show for Windows Property System Properties.
Property Name (Canonical Property Name)
