Today, I downloaded Everything-1.5.0.1396a.x64.zip, the portable one. Most features work perfectly fine, so kudos to Void! However, when I finished searching and pressed the Esc key to close the window (out of habit from version 1.4), I found that the shortcut didn’t work.
In the shortcut key panel, I noticed there is a command "View (v) | Close Pane", which uses the Shift+Esc shortcut. But even after pressing Shift+Esc, it still didn’t work. Could it be that I misunderstood the function of "Close Pane"?
Pressing Esc can close the options panel, but it cannot close the entire search window.

Re: Issues Encountered When Closing the Search Window with the Esc Key
Thank you for your feedback sleaf,
Everything 1.4 closes the window on ESC.
Everything 1.5 no longer closes the window on ESC.
To close the window or tab on ESC:
Everything 1.4 closes the window on ESC.

To close the window or tab on ESC:
- In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.

- To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
close - Select File | Close Window or File | Close Tab.

- Click OK.
Re: Issues Encountered When Closing the Search Window with the Esc Key
Yes, after I posted the thread, I thought about it a bit more and realized that I can use Ctrl+W and Ctrl+Shift+W to close windows/tabs directly.
I also found out that version 1.5 of Everything supports a multi-tab mode within a single window using Ctrl+T, which is a bit like the Chromium browsers.
Nice job, Void!
