MediaInfo option in Everything GUI

Post by raywood »

I thought I used to have this, but if so, it disappeared.

I search in Everything. I get MP4 files as search results. I right-click on them. No option to obtain MediaInfo. Is that the way it's always been? Is there anything I can do about it?

I know I can open Explorer and get a MediaInfo context menu option. This is not that.

Everything should show the same context menu as Windows Explorer (when using Shift + right click)

If you are missing context menu items:

Please make sure you are using the x64 version of Everything (Help -> About Everything -> Version)

Please make sure Everything is not running as administrator:
Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Is the context menu item still missing?

Everything x64 is not necessarily required - at least for MediaInfo.
(I use Everything x86 & MediaInfo x64.)

I'm running as admin. That's probably the problem.
