LITERALLY DID NOTHING and now most of my drives do not appear in search

Post by user6969000 »

The title isn't mean to have a shouty tone, just a frustrated one, but I woke up today, turned on my pc and all of a sudden I can't see a file I'm looking for with everything. I then notice that in the results window, when nothing is in the search box, and it is meant to list all files and directories, there is nothing from all but two of my hard drives, I have five missing drives. Haven't touched a thing in settings since yesterday when it was working just fine

Check your setting under the Search menu.
Maybe something was inadvertently enabled.

You might have a Filter enabled that happens to not return any results.
That would return a blank results page for any or no search term.

Are your drives still included in your index under Tools -> Options -> NTFS?

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.
