Hi All,
I am running Windows 11, Everything 1.5a 1396a x64
I have Last Of The Summer Wine TV series
All the files (274) are in one folder H:\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973
They are all Labelled with their Season number and episode number
EG:S01E01.Short Back and Palais Glide.mp4
up to
EG:S32E01.
I need to be able to put them into folders for their seasons
EG: Series 01
EG: Series 02
to
EG: Series 32
I have all ready created a series of folders in H:\Destination\Series 01 to Series 32 to drop the files into
when the task is completed then i could move them by hand to H:\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973
When the task is completed it should look like this
H:\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973\Series 01\S01E01.Short Back and Palais Glide.mp4
H:\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973\Series 02\S02E01.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.mp4
to
H:\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973\Series 32\S032E01.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.mp4
I am thinking the first section of the file name could be the filter for sorting the files (S032E01)
Could some very knowledgeable person please
write me an example out of how this could be done?
Thank you in anticipation

Re: Sorting Files by names into correct folders ?
To batch move these files into their corresponding series:
Advanced Move To
- Search for:
"H:\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973\" regex:S\d\dE\d\d - Select all files (Ctrl + A)
- From the Edit menu, under the Advanced submenu, click Advanced Move To....
- Check Regular expressions.
- Check Ignore extension.
- Change the old format to:
^H:\\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973\\S(\d\d)E(\d\d)(.*?)$ - Change the new format to:
H:\\LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1973\\Series \1\\S\1E\2\3 - Review the new filenames and click OK.
