Not so long ago [viewtopic.php?t=15012] this new configurable feature has been added
Tools > Options > Advanced > ctrl_tab_action
which allows to cycle [in different ways] through the Tabs using the Control + Tab combo
How about adding the same options for solely the Mouse Scroll Wheel, when the pointer hoovers over a row that displays them? Such possibility of configuration is possible in the file-manager FreeCommander and my experience tells me, that it is so much more convenient to be able to use just the mouse for quick navigation between Tabs. In Everything this could be named
Tools > Options > Advanced > wheel_scroll_tabs
Tab cycling with Mouse Wheel
Re: Tab cycling with Mouse Wheel
I will add mouse wheel actions to select the previous/next tab.
Useful if you want Alt + mousewheel (or other combination) to change the tab.
The next alpha update will scroll the tabcontrol on mousewheel and Shift + mousewheel.
I will consider an option to select the previous/next tab on mousewheel.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Everything 1.5.0.1397a improves mouse wheel support for the tabcontrol.
mousewheel and Shift + mousewheel will now scroll the tabcontrol.

Re: Tab cycling with Mouse Wheel
In version 1.5.0.1399a x64 Portable the
Tools > Options > Advanced > mouse_wheel_routing
has options
● (Use default)
● Focus
● Hover
but I do not see a difference in how they work. Apparently with either of them being enacted I can hold the Shift key and use Mouse Wheel Up / Down to go through list of Filters being applied to the current Tab, whenever mouse poniter is located
And might I suggest adding Tab and Shift to this name and, so that users would know what it is this options affects and with what modifier key? In my opinion the current
is very vague, considering it requires two input devices [mouse and keyboard] to work and combines two features [Tabs and Filter] of the program itself

Re: Tab cycling with Mouse Wheel
As for this newly implemented feature itself and my original proposition - I now imagine a perfect behavior combo that a user could choose:
● to go horizontally thorough Tabs using left / right function of Scroll Wheel - because left and right are side directions and Tabs are presented in a row
● to go vertically through Filters - because Filter feature is configured and unfolded in a vertical list
but all of that without usage of extra keys being pushed, just with a mouse pointer hovering over the row with Tabs and particular Tab
Plus user should be able to choose if one of both of them are to be endless cycling [i.e. be able to jump from last Tab to first one] or be limited at edges [i.e. be stopped up-ping at A-named-Filter thus having to go all the way down to Z instead of jumping up directly from A to Z]
