Correct way to launch Everything and documents?

Post by wilhil »

Hi,

Love everything, but, we've been having a problem which I've just tracked back to this and wondered if anyone can possibly help.

Basically, if I launch an Office document from a folder, it launches as expected and it works, including saving back to onedrive.

If I open Everything, search for the filename and open - it opens it, but, in a child process of everything - not in the already open Office window, and, online/onedrive/sharepoint is disabled.

This has caused us to go out of sync on documents several times and it was always confusing why - but, I believe I tracked it down to this and just wondered if anyone can offer any assistance?

Thanks

This issue can be caused by running Everything as administrator.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.
Does the issue persists?
